This is what happened last week with millions staging protests across the US and around the world. Yet, Republican supporters come out every day saying those millions of protesters don't know what they're protesting about. Likely because they don't understand what's happening in the States and are going by the feelings they get from media reports and from that the Felon has told them in sound bites rather than researching the information for themselves. The truth is in the research. The truth is gleaned through your eyes and into your brain, not through your ears through someone else's interpretation or the lie of the moment. But there's one simple fact in all this...
It's easier to listen to the lie than to actively research the truth. People are lazy.
Thanks for an amazing article. I've always believed in the saying, "You can't see a spot on the ground if you're standing on it. But move away from it, and it becomes clear." I believe this is why people like you are valuable for your comments. Because you're not standing on the spot on the ground. You're looking at it from another perspective. I'm a Western American living in Ireland for nearly 30 years. I'm not standing on the spot (living in the US) but because of my perspective, I see what's happening and it deeply saddens me. And living in Europe and seeing how American decisions influence and affect other nations is heartbreaking. Largely because it's the poorer people of all nations who will suffer. Not the people on the growing rifts between the classes...those who consider themselves elite.
