A little historical FYI re: A Summer Place. The movie was mainly filmed on the Monterey Peninsula, where I'm from. The La Porte Mansion, one of the settings, was destroyed last year after an electrical fire. It was a beautiful and iconic local landmark and the town of Pacific Grove are still saddened by its loss.

Some of the other settings were in Carmel and still exist, including those at the iconic Mission Ranch, not owned and operated as a luxury hotel by Clint Eastwood who bought the old motor lodge and prior dairy farm, when it went up for sale to developers.
